Testimonials >>

Thank you for all the care and attention to detail you put into the repair and refinishing of my rifle . I've known several "gunsmiths" but I find your craftsmanship and finish superb and qualify you for inclusion not only as an excellent smith but as a true "martial artist". Thanks again!

I have used KMJ Custom Works for all of my firearm work for years now.  From the simplest repairs to refinishing work, or even something such a rebuilding my custom match M1A, I have found their work to be excellent, as well as timely and reasonably priced.  I feel there is nothing that they can't handle.

John is an exceptional gunsmith and exceptional person! Since I've had the pleasure of meeting him, he has done a number of modifications to many of my firearms.

Work John has done so far:

Mossberg 500 - Performed a trigger job that cleaned up the "slop" and break on the trigger and applied Olive Drab Cerakote
Howa M1500 - Applied Olive Drab Cerakote
Yugo M59/66 - Applied FDE Cerakote
Bushmaster XM15 E2S - Applied FDE Cerakote
Saiga AK47 - He converted my Saiga sporter rifle to an Ak configuration and applied FDE Cerakote

John is the only person I will go to now for any of my firearm needs. I have taken my firearms to a few other so called "gunsmiths" around here and their work is laughable in comparison. No one in WNY comes close to his skill or offers his niche work. All of my firearms are sent to him to at least get the cerakote finish. The only thing better than his work is his personality! I will see him again soon for more work... Thanks John!

We have been enjoying the services of John Newberry at KMJ custom for over 5 yrs now with nothing but great success! Everything from light gunsmithing, dura coat finishes and tactical work to full on custom builds- nothing seems to beyond their capabilities. We highly recommend KMJ Custom for any of your needs.

I have 35 years of service between the US Military and Law Enforcement, both requiring the use of firearms. My life depended upon total confidence that my firearms would work perfectly every time. Because of this fact, I will only trust one person to work on any of my firearms. John Newberry is that man. John has worked on several of my firearms and has always impressed me with his master skills and knowledge. I am in awe of his abilities and envy his gift. Every time I have a firearms to be either repaired or DuraCoated, John has not only met my expectations but has far surpassed them. His work is truly second to none. That paired with his interpersonal skills and friendliness is the reason he is simply the best at what he does. All of his exceptional work aside, John is an all-around inspiring man who has a heart of gold. Aside from the repairs he makes on firearms he also DuraCoats many different objects upon request. Among these objects are prosthetics for wounded warriors, and also those injured in domestic terrorist acts such as the Boston Marathon bombing, as well as other tragedies. John has served our country by serving those that sacrificed to protect our country. If you are looking for A plus work you will never be disappointed by going to John for any and all of your firearm needs.

John turned a $,300 30 year old gun into a $600 brand new gun with his cerakote job. He went above and beyond being meticulous to detailing the various small parts and other areas I did not expect him to do that.
